Cassiel

I saw you standing up there
On that shady mountain side
I saw your staring down here
So blasphemous and snide

You looked at me, you gazed at me
You speared me with your eyes
You cast a spell right over me
With your odd and fiendish guise

Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
What did they do to ye?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
Was it because of me?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
In silence I remain
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
With all my grilling pain

I sat down beneath the river
And you sat down next to me
Softly you whispered in my ear
Underneath that willow tree

And the river flowed, the river flowed
And it washed away my pain
And the river flowed, the river flowed
Like the bad blood in my vein

Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
What did they do to ye?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
Was it because of me?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
In silence I remain
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
With all my pulsing pain

And my blood it burned
Underneath it all
On my knees I fall
On my knees I crawl

And I tumbled down
With an ache in my head
I never ever thought
That it could hurt so bad

Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
What did they do to ye?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
Was it because of me?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
In silence I remain
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
With all my burning pain

I saw you laughing
And I saw you cry
I heard you saying
Your last good bye

Then the murky cold water
Slowly washed around me
My hands and feet were bound
But my cold heart – it was free

Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
What did they do to ye?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
Was it because of me?
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
In silence I remain
Oh Cassiel, Oh Cassiel
With all my quiet pain

May I borrow this to post on my own journal? It struck a major chord with me.

All due credit, of course.
